THE FALLS

The petrified falls are a rare geological phenomenon. Created by spring water over-saturated with calcium carbonate, these white cliffs provide a stunning contrast against the rugged green valleys of Oaxaca, offering a serene space for contemplation.

ANCIENT POOLS

For millennia, these mineral-rich springs have flowed, depositing stone as they fall. Today, visitors can enjoy the thermal pools that hang on the cliffside, offering 360-degree views of the Sierra Norte mountains. It is a place of profound quiet and awe-inspiring natural architecture that honors the ancient soul of Oaxaca.

Standing at the edge of the petrified falls was a truly spiritual experience. The view of the Oaxacan valley from the turquoise mineral pools is unlike anything else on Earth. It is a quiet, powerful place where time seems to stand still. I recommend every nature lover visits this ancient site.
